Explore Halal Screened Stocks
Hyssa’s built-in Shariah stock screener helps you confidently invest in halal stocks by analyzing both business activity and financial ratios—according to AAOIFI standards.
Steps to Use the Built-In Screener:
1. Navigate to the “Invest” Tab
From the bottom navigation menu, tap on Invest.
Here, you’ll see:
- Top Movers: Stocks that are trending in performance
- Recommendations: Curated halal investment picks
- News: Relevant updates and articles for your watchlist
2. Search or Browse Stocks
You can tap a stock from Top Movers & Recommendation to analyse the stock. Choose a stock that you wish to invest in, and tap ‘Invest’.
3. View Stock Details
Once you tap on a stock, you’ll see:
- Stock price and daily price chart
- Shariah Compliance Status
- Company profile and description
- Key metrics (e.g. market cap, volume, dividend yield)
A green “Halal” badge indicates the stock is currently Shariah-compliant. You also can check the latest date of halal compliant results, and the halal rating from lowest to highest sourced from their latest financial reports.
4. Analyze the Shariah Screening Breakdown
Tap on the ‘Screening Results’ to see a shariah screening breakdown for a stock. Hyssa shows two levels of compliance checks:
Business Activity Screening
Shows the percentage of revenue from:
- Halal sales & income
- Doubtful sales & income
- Haram income (e.g., alcohol, gambling)
If the haram component is below the AAOIFI threshold, the stock is considered compliant.
Combined revenue from “Doubtful” and “Not Halal” sources must be less than 5% of total revenue to be Shariah compliant.
Financial Ratio Screening
Checks if the company’s financials meet Shariah guidelines, including:
- Short-term and long-term interest-bearing debt
- Interest-bearing instruments
- Liquidity levels
- Net income vs. non-compliant sources
Both business and financial screens must pass for a stock to be labeled halal.
Interest-bearing debt should be less than 30% of trailing 36-month average market capitalization to be Shariah compliant
5. Review News and Sources
Each screening section includes the source of data, such as financial reports and filings. You can tap links to verify the information directly.
6. Tap “Invest” to Proceed
Once you’re comfortable & confident with the screening results and stock profile, tap the Invest button at the bottom to place your trade.
